Where Every Seat Brings Hope
August 22 @ 6:15 pm – 8:30 pm
Supporting Families Affected by the New Westminster Fire
When families lose their homes, they need more than financial support — they need to know that their community cares.
On August 22, CentreCanada youth volunteers organized The Common Table, a community fundraising dinner to support people affected by the recent New Westminster fire.
The evening brought together young people, local businesses, community organizations, elected officials, neighbours, and community leaders — all coming together to help families during a difficult time.
Young People Asking, “How Can We Help?”
The idea started with a simple question:
“How can we help?”
Our summer school students helped answer that question by creating paintings that became part of the fundraising effort.
Their involvement was a reminder that everyone, no matter their age, can make a difference.
A Community Around One Table
The Common Table was more than a fundraising event.
It was an evening to share a meal, connect with neighbours, hear stories, and stand together in support of families affected by the fire.
Throughout the evening, community members also shared their wishes and messages of hope on our community wall — creating a collection of encouragement for those going through this difficult time.
100% Goes Toward the Cause
We are proud that 100% of the funds raised through The Common Table are going toward supporting people affected by the New Westminster fire.
No portion of the funds raised was kept by CentreCanada.
Every donation can help provide meaningful support to families as they rebuild.
You Can Still Make a Difference
The event may be over, but the need for support continues.
If you would like to help families affected by the New Westminster fire, you can still contribute to the campaign.
Your support matters.
Your donation can make a difference.
Thank you for standing with our neighbours and showing what a caring community can do.
Just people helping people.
One community. One table. One act of kindness at a time.
