From Classrooms to Confidence: A Summer of Growth

This summer, CentreCanada proudly completed another season of the Canada Summer Jobs program, empowering youth and enriching our community.

Building Skills for Youth

Eighteen young people from newcomer and racialized communities joined our team. Through onboarding, mentorship, and training, they gained valuable workplace experience in teaching, leadership, and teamwork. Their journey included:

• Training in lesson planning, safety, inclusivity, and child development.
• Hands-on practice leading classrooms and supporting children’s learning.
• Growth in confidence, communication, and leadership skills that will serve them in future careers.

Fun and Learning for Kids

Our youth employees brought energy and creativity to a summer learning program. Children explored:

• Academics: math, science, language, and programming.
• Creativity: arts, drama, and teamwork activities.
• Confidence building: through games, projects, and positive mentorship.

Impact on the Community

• For youth: meaningful employment, mentorship, and skills for the future.
