About CentreCanada and the Immunization Partnership Fund
CentreCanada is a non-profit organization committed to uplifting immigrants, refugees, and newcomers by providing culturally responsive health, education, and integration services. Through this initiative, we are ensuring that vaccine education and health literacy reach the people who need it most.
With support from the Immunization Partnership Fund, this program will help increase vaccine literacy, confidence, and access within diverse communities. Your role will be critical in making this vision a reality.
What You Will Do
- Lead outreach and education efforts in your community, ensuring that families, parents, and elders have access to reliable vaccine information.
- Organize and facilitate community forums to address concerns, answer questions, and foster dialogue on immunization.
- Develop and deliver health literacy workshops to parents and caregivers, equipping them with the knowledge to make informed health decisions.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to improve culturally responsive care and bridge the gap between service providers and diverse communities.
- Support a multilingual digital health resource platform, ensuring that health education is accessible to all.
- Engage in data collection and impact reporting, ensuring that this work creates lasting change.
This is not a role where you wait for change to happen. You create it.
Who You Are
You are the person your community trusts—the one they turn to when they need guidance. You are deeply connected to the experiences of newcomers and understand the cultural and linguistic barriers they face. You are someone who doesn’t just recognize problems but actively works toward solutions.
- Fluency in one of the following: Dari/Pashto, Arabic, Spanish, Tigrinya, or Turkish.
- A medical or health-related background, either in Canada or in your country of origin. This could include experience in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, public health, or related fields.
- Experience in community engagement, outreach, education, or health promotion.
- Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills—you know how to connect with people.
- Passion for health equity and social justice.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
You don’t need to have all the answers. You just need the courage to stand up for your community and the drive to make an impact.
Why This Matters
Many people struggle to access the healthcare information they need—not because they don’t want to, but because the system was not designed with them in mind. Language barriers, cultural differences, and misinformation create gaps in trust and understanding.
You will help bridge that gap.
You will be the link between the community and healthcare providers. You will help ensure that no one is left behind when it comes to making informed health decisions. You will be a trusted voice in a sea of uncertainty.
And the impact you make will not just last for today—it will create change for generations to come.
